Franck Lamargue has been running his 12 hectare domaine based in the village of Le Rochepot, just over the hill from Saint Aubin, since 2005. The vineyards are worked organically and the grapes harvested by hand. A combination of new and old oak is used to vinify a range of generous whites and reds that offer tremendous value for money from some of the lesser-known villages of the southern Côte de Beaune.

The Maranges area, which grows mainly Pinot Noir, plus a little Chardonnay, is the most southerly appellation of the Côte-de-Beaune. Its vineyards are interlocked with those of neighbouring Santenay, with which it shares some well-thought-of Premiers Crus. Maranges was granted its own AOC Village in 1988 covering the three villages of Cheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize-lès-Maranges and Sampigny-lès-Maranges.
