This Mercurey is bright red with ruby reflections. On the nose it has a very attractive sweetness to the black-fruit character, along with a broad range of red berry fruit aromas, fresh at first yet candied in the end. The first impression in the mouth is both lively and supple; more delicious fruit on the palate, plus a touch of spice. Acidity and a bite of tannin keep the palate fresh on the finish. There's plenty to enjoy here, perhaps served alongside a plate of grilled lamb.
