Chateau Deville Blanc, Entre Deux Mers 2021
Crisp and clean as a whistle & dry, medium bodied with citric lemon and grapefruit notes from the Sauvignon, underpinned with a textural richness from the Semillon. This is no nonsense, brilliantly executed white Bordeaux. Very satisfying with a lifted zesty finish.
Pairs well with goats cheese tart, white fish and beurre blanc.
Chateau Filhot, Sauternes - Half Bottle/375ml 2010
Chateau des Anneraux, Lalande de Pomerol 2007
Famous winery of Lalande de Pomerol, Chateau des Annereaux is owned by the same family since the XVth century. The estate, which is currently run by Dominque and Benjamin Hessel, has used organic farming methods since 2007. Its vineyard is located on the middle bench of the Isle Valley, high quality soils composed of sand, gravel and larger cobbles soils from Quaternary period. Its wines are subtle, fruity, harmonious and have an elegant aromatic expression. Considered to be producing some of its finest wines for many years, prompting Decanter Magazine to call this property 'an essential discovery for any claret lover'. Opulent and lush on the palate with silky tannins. The finish is lingering. Enjoy with roast chicken, quail or loin lamb chops.
Saintayme, Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2018
Aromas of blackberries, chocolate, cherries, pine needles and bark follow through to a medium to full body with fine tannins and a juicy, nicely fruity finish. The 9 hectare plot of vineyards are planted almost entirely with Merlot. This wine is a joy and full of supple fruit and thus very quaffable. Not that complex, but hard to fault for sheer fruit.
Château Saintayme is owned and managed by Denis Durantou who, more famously, has brought l'Eglise Clinet to the pinnacle of Pomerol producers with consistently stunning wines, yet you wouldn't know it from his jovial, engaging, down-to-earth attitude.
