The emblematic cru, solely owned by the Cavallotto family. Crafted from the Vigne Colle Sud-Ovest and Punta Marcello parcels of the Bricco Boschis. The vines for this cuvée average around 50 years old and their deep root systems really siphon the essence out of the Boschis' complex clay and calcareous soils. The wine spends about 20 days on skins before being aged in Slovenian-oak casks of various sizes (all large) for three years and six months. A Barolo that builds in the glass to a glorious crescendo.

Optimal structure but with already-soft tannins and with an open, intense perfume that gives this Barolo characteristics of both power and great elegance. Complex and fragrant, it can be enjoyed young but has great aging potential.

This wine finds its best matches at the table, with first courses of prosciutto, salami, Alba beef tartare and vitello tonnato. The wine is best with second courses of red meat in general, but also grilled fish or white meats, or with hard and aged cheeses. Desserts with dark chocolate are also a good match, or it can be enjoyed as a “vino da meditazione” (a wine for meditation) by itself.
