Dark gold wine with greenish nuances. A complex and evolved aroma of pronounced intensity of dried fruits, namely raisins and nuts, but also honey and vanilla. Medium sweet, medium body, complex and intense flavour of caramel and nuts. Wine with a touch of old wood and a long finish.

Serve with roasted nuts (especially walnuts) and blue-veined cheeses; pâtes ; seared venison and braised short rib; robust curry stews and richer Asian dishes. For dessert: with crème caramel or brûlée, tarte tatin and traditional Bolo de mel Madeiran cake. As a digestif: solo, or with a fuller-bodied cigar.
