At this stage, the single-vineyard Valmaggiore from Roero is open and very pretty in terms of perfume, thanks to the sandy soil. Delicate and floral, with a classic character of orange peel and dry herbs. The palate is dense, with a pristine freshness and elegance, and a soft character of tannins, harmonious and balanced.

The Valmaggiore vineyard in the Roero appellation is one of the hottest spots for grape-growing in Piedmont today. Fruit coming out of this site has been exceptional these past few years. The Roero area is characterized by sandy soils so those floral perfumes are very pronounced and intense. Bruna Giacosa leases this site meaning she manages all the farming needs in-house. The Valmaggiore cru awards us with a different and equally exciting perspective onto the Nebbiolo grape.
