The Italian Job!

Our 6 bottle mixed case explores the fantastic Country of Italy from the very Northern mountains to the sunny Southern region of Puglia.  No mini's included, just fantastic wines here!

1701 Franciacorta Brut Nature

High quality sparkling wine from Lombardy, Northern Italy.  1701 Franciacorta Brut is a blend of Chardonnay 85% and Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) 15%.  Its full palate is balanced by marked acidity.  Mineral hints softened by fresh fruits and a lingering flavour of red apple.

Ca' d'Gal, Moscato d'Asti 'Lumine'

Lumine captures sunny notes of elderflower cordial, mandarin oranges and rose petals, illuminated by a lovely silver-gold effervescence on the tongue.  Flavours of white peaches and pears melt on the tongue like cotton candy, perfectly light and balanced.  Just a touch of frizzante bubble cleanses the palate.  Drink joyously as an aperitif, as a sorbet-like palate-cleanser, with strawberries, fruit pastries, torta di nocciole (hazelnut cake) and zabaione al moscato (zabaione with nutmeg).

Civitas Pecorino, Terre di Chieti, Lunaria

Lunaria are a co-operative winery dedicated to producing wine in the most sustainable way.  Organic and biodynamic certified, this is a full-bodied, dry white from the Pecorino grape.  Rich, with nutty flavours and a crisp finish – really delicious and something a bit different.

Marchesi di Gresy, Langhe Sauvignon Blanc

Made from Sauvignon grapes cultivated on Marchesi di Grésy's Monte Aribaldo (in the commune of Treiso) and Martinenga (Barbaresco) estates in Piemonte. Intense, ripe and vibrant aromas of citrus and stone fruit - with fine floral characters and notes of freshly-mown hay. Textural, harmonious palate with ripe fruit effortlessly balanced by crisp acidity and complex savoury characters.

Casina Bric Mesdi Vino Rosso NV

Mesdi Vino Rosso NV is multi vintage 100% Nebbiolo and an amazing introduction to the stunning wines of Piemonte, located just outside Barolo.  'Casina Bric' translates into 'Hilltop Winery' and a strict organic approach is employed and everything is hand harvested.  A light ruby colour in the glass with aromas of rose petals and sweet spices with notes of dark chocolate and most importantly excellent value!

Masseria Borgo dei Trulli, Primitivo IGP Salento

This rich Italian red is a bit like walking into your most-loved cafe. Not a greasey spoon, nor a super trendy one - nothing wrong with them but that FAVOURITE place!  Aromas of exotic spices, vanilla, coconut and dried fruits. (They serve a healthy breakfast here!). Followed by rich blackcurrant, chocolate cake and exotic spice flavours. With, of course, fresh coffee on the finish!
