Southern French Duo Hamper

The abundant southern sunshine and warmth potentially make for flavoursome wines.  A strong Mediterranean influence brings reliable conditions and free from the shackles of other French regions exciting blends as in this hamper.  Discover two of our Southern French wines which are drinking very well indeed.

Domaine Ferrandiere, Grand Vin (Chardonnay / Viognier / Pinot Gris) - Bright golden, with an array of tropical fruits, mingled with expressive stone fruits, toasted bread and sweet vanilla on the nose. The palate opens with layers of peach and pineapple, minerality and somewhat floral, finishing full with toasted oak and lashings of tropical fruit.  Allow to open in the glass and do not over chill.  Best served with white meats and even a festive cheeseboard.

Chateau Villegly L'Excellence, Minervois - Beautifully rich and deep in colour.  The nose reveals aromas of blackcurrant, violet and blackberries evolving towards notes of cocoa and sweet spices.  Generous on the palate, it is well balanced and fruity.  Pair this wine with grilled red meats such as rib of beef or duck breast.
