This powerful, Merlot-dominated wine is densely textured and concentrated. Powerful, dark fruits are as intense as the tannins, offering huge richness. For contrast, fresher acidity shoots through the wine, adding to the ageworthy promise.

A prestigious reference of the Pomerol appellation, Chateau La Croix de Gay boasts a rich heritage with origins dating back to 1477.

Situated on the right bank of Bordeaux, Chateau La Croix de Gay enjoys an exceptional location with a vineyard of 4.20 hectares planted on wonderful terroirs, which can be divided into two groups of parcels. One of these is the high terrace of Pomerol, consisting of Günz gravel soils and representing the heart of the Chateau La Croix de Gay blend. The other is a terroir of Mindelienne gravel. The subsoils here consist of ferruginous clay.

From these two exceptional terroirs come wines ranked iconic in Pomerol. The wines of Chateau La Croix de Gay are distinguished by their finesse and their unique signature aromas, presenting delicate floral fragrances of violets, evolving into notes of truffle over time. A Grand Vin of Pomerol, the Chateau La Croix de Gay 2018 blends Merlot (93%) with Cabernet Franc (7%). The wine is aged in Bordeaux barrels for 18 months, 60% in new wood and 40% in barrels of one previous wine. Product of a very beautiful vintage for the Bordeaux region, the Chateau La Croix de Gay 2018 expresses all the typicality of an exceptional vintage of Pomerol, promising an exceptional evolution over time.
