Querciabella, Chianti Classico Riserva 2020

The bright 2020 Querciabella Riserva has a great nose that opens to expressive notes of fresh forest herbs, anise, wet stones, red cherry liqueur, framboise, and juniper, with a high-toned lift to the aromas that are fantastic. Medium-bodied, it has a more linear feel compared to the Chianti Classico, with fine, ripe tannins and great, balanced energy. This beautiful Riserva is going to last for 15 or more years. We love its fantastic tension and energy with a refreshing blood orange note on the finish. This is great Chianti!

The name Querciabella is perfectly fitting for this Chianti estate, surrounded by a sheltering forest of magnificent trees. Twenty Twenty-Four marks the 50th vintage for the estate and the beginning of a new era with Mita Castiglioni, eldest daughter of Pepito, taking the reins. Under her leadership, Querciabella continues to be one of Italy's most innovative wineries, pioneering vegan and biodynamic practices. With the expertise of talented South African winemaker Manfred Ing, Querciabella consistently produces some of the purest expressions of Chianti Classico as well as Super-Tuscans with their acclaimed wines Camartina, Palafreno and one of Italy's most celebrated white wines, Batàr, alongside a range of exciting wines from the Maremma region.
