Jolie-Laide, Suisun Valley Pinot Gris 2023

Lying south-east of the Napa Valley, the Suisun Valley is home to a variety of grapes originally planted in California’s North Coast. Here the combination of microclimate, alluvial-clay loam soils, and healthy organic farming allows Pinot Gris to thrive. Grapes are harvested early to maintain natural acidity. Upon arriving at the winery, the Pinot Gris is footstomped for a 3 day whole cluster cold soak which provides phenolic texture along with a natural pink floral hue. The juice underwent native fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and oak puncheons before élevage in neutral barrique.

Beautifully aromatic, this alluring wine shows attractive notes of white teas and flowers on the nose before opening into a silky and lush palate marked by flavours of peach, melon and lime, with perfectly balanced acidity.
