Domaine Jean Foillard Fleurie 2023 is ethereal yet striking. A Gamay that captures the soul of Fleurie’s pink‐granite soils. On the nose: vivid wild strawberries and red cherries glide across floral notes of rose petal, violet and a delicate hint of crushed stone. As it hits the palate, fine tannins unfold gently, supported by bright acidity and an elegant minerality. There’s depth without weight, a purity to the fruit that feels both immediate and lingering. White pepper and a whisper of allspice lingers into the finish alongside subtle earth and savory undertones. A wine to savour now, but with age to reveal more nuance.
