In a recent frenzy of passion for the wines coming out of Sardinia, the cooperative of Dorgali has really blown us away with their Vermentino and particularly their Cannonau. With over 600 hectares, they impressively keep everything by hand and super low yields to create concentration alongside freshness in their wines. Nestled between the Supramonte mountains and the Gulf of Orosei on the eastern coast, their unique terroir is a gem reflecting in the quality but hardly in the price of these wines.

The stand out wine is the Tunila Cannonau, an amazing representation of Grenache (the international name for Cannonau grape). The Tunila shows crunchy tannins alongside red berry fruits with real depth and concentration.

Made from Sardinia's signature Cannonau grape, believed to be one of the oldest varietals in the Mediterranean, this wine hails from the picturesque hills around Dorgali, where warm days and cool mountain breezes create the perfect conditions for ripening.

In the glass, it offers a deep ruby hue and enticing aromas of ripe red berries, Mediterranean herbs, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it's generous and smooth, with notes of black cherry, plum, and wild herbs layered over a backbone of soft tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is warm and lingering, evoking Sardinia’s rustic charm and wild landscapes.

A versatile red that pairs beautifully with grilled meats, aged cheeses, or hearty pasta dishes.
