Bodegas Ameztoi, Txakoli di Getaria

From Bilbao to San Sebastian, Basque Txakoli, made from the native Hondarrabi Zuri grape, is served in the pinxto bars - poured with panache from a great height into small tumblers. The green-tinted liquid turns chalky-white, foams and eventually settles, retaining a lively spritz. The best wines are produced around the fishing village of Getaria where the vineyards are cut into incredibly steep terraced slopes overlooking the Bay of Biscay. Ameztoi’s Txakoli is dry, taut and mineral with a green apple freshness and lemon, lime and mint notes.

The winery is located at the top of a hill facing north in a privileged area due to the environment that surrounds it, and the spectacular views offered by the coastal landscape. The vineyard falls to the sea and the winery on the hill is as if suspended on a vegetal carpet. The winery looks out to the sea to be able to contemplate the beauty of the landscape. Although, the vision or contemplation of the sea is what truly captivates and excites us. The land of the Ameztoi property is made up of 51 hectares of vineyards, all in vineyards, divided into different parcels that surround the winery.
