While we obviously love wine, artisan spirits and all the other corners of our range, we are embracing the emergence of Non-Alcoholic beverages with open arms. In our opinion they have now moved from the wacky and weird to seriously drinkable. We have been busy searching for the past two years to get to where we are now and have tasty many great, and not-so-great, along the way, so we can bring you the best of the best!

To help you discover your new favourite non-alcoholic products, we are hosting Sam the founder of Kore Drinks for a tasting on Saturday 18^th January between 12 – 4pm - join us in store to sample our range and find your perfect options to support your dry January journey.

This blog will firstly explore dry January, what it is and how to survive! We will then introduce our new range of non-alcoholic products which we have selected as we choose all other listings, starting with quality and has this been thoughtfully made with the smallest possible impact. We then ask the question; is this enjoyable and will it offer value for money for our customers.

Dry January

Dry January is a month-long challenge where individuals voluntarily abstain from alcohol, often embracing a health reset, a charity initiative or a personal goal. This period encourages people to take a break from drinking and explore alternative ways to unwind and socialise, especially after the excesses of Christmas and New Year.

Firstly, let us focus on CROSSIP Spirits. Their production process is completely in house using natural, botanical ingredients from trusted suppliers and extract the flavours, colours and aromas using their unique and proprietary maceration process followed by filtering and blending to create the finished liquid of CROSSIP.

Each signature flavour contains a core base of Eucalyptus, Ginger, Cayenne, Gentian and Vegetable Glycerin.

The core flavours are; Fresh Citrus, Pure Hibiscus, Dandy Smoke and Blazing Pineapple! Each bold, different and delicious whether you want to create a simple serve with premium mixer or build a non-alcoholic cocktail, there are many options available depending on how creative you are feeling.

Wild Idol Sparkling Wines have set a high bar of quality. Their wines are hand-crafted from a blend of grapes carefully chosen for their aromatic excellence. Wild Idol's high-quality taste is matched by its premium presentation – a striking combination which is currently setting the benchmark for non-alcoholic sparkling wines.

WILD IDOL Sparkling Rosé is a beautiful twilight pink in the glass, with delicate bubbles and abundant in fresh, aromatic fruit notes.

Now for ZENO Alcohol Free Wines. We are very excited to introduce this range. They are affordable, drinkable and most importantly made from recognisable grape varieties without significant sugar additions, we are impressed!

Wine seems to be the most difficult to get right in the exploding non-alcoholic sector for everyone except Wild Idol. It seems hard to replace the flavour, sense of occasion and ritual of great wine. The process of making ZENO wine begins in central Spain, with organically grown vines nestle on undulating hills. At harvest, only the best fruit are selected, with specific qualities tailored for getting the perfect result through the de-alcoholisation process. Carefully vinified, the wines are then meticulously blended, before the alcohol is gently removed. Finally, blending and tasting led by ZENO’s resident MW, with the aim to achieve wines with regional expression and sophisticated aroma and flavour qualities.
