The palest peach colour gives a hint that this is not your typical rosé. Made from the local Nerello Mascalese grape (more commonly found in spicy Etna reds), the wine has gentle aromas of beeswax and apricot kernel. On the palate, bright citrus acidity mixes with flavours of stone-fruit, honeysuckle and a touch of flint. The flavours evolve onto the finish, becoming richer and broader, ending with a slight toasty twist.

Nerello is a name that can apply to two grape varieties, found most commonly on the Italian islands of Sicily and Sardinia: Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio. The former is more widely planted, and is used in the Etna Rosato and Rosso DOC blends to add colour and alcohol.
