Owned and made by the Cazes family of Lynch Bages, this is a consistently good wine and one of the best of the Crus Bourgeois of Bordeaux . 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 39% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot with ageing in 50% new oak. We have stokced this wine since we first tasted it back in 2008, where it was easily the best cru bourgeois of that tasting. Ormes de Pez has not failed to deliver on the potential we saw. Big, structured and mouth-filling with intense, dense, dark fruit, but with a creamy, raspberry twist. Sweet cassis in the middle adn super-ripe tannins. A notable success and at this price, it's an absolute bargain.
